Tradition is honored and celebrated not in attempting to reproduce the past in a very different present but in seeking to re-create the traditions, reinterpreting them so that they make the same impact today as when they were originally created. In seeking to be loyal to a form, people may thereby be guilty of destroying its intent.
If worship or church life is to remain indigenous, and if space is to be given to people to bring everything they have to God, then worship must constantly change, for culture is dynamic. Unfortunately, most churches are set up to function as static systems. The key is to ensure that structures do not prevent dynamism and connectivity.
